What makes the XL version different?
The XL version adds an extended condenser and a longer mouthpiece to the M7. The mouthpiece offers six additional airflow settings. This allows the draw resistance to be adjusted more precisely and gives the device more surface area to hold.
The tip, cap and Adjust-a-Bowl are based on the same M7 platform. “XL” therefore refers to the extended design, not to a larger herb chamber.
M7 XL or short M7?
The short M7 measures 9.1 cm and, according to DynaVap, weighs 17.3 g. The M7 XL measures 10.8 cm and weighs 26 g. Both have a chamber capacity of around 0.1 g and, according to the manufacturer's comparison, heat up in approximately 10–12 seconds.
Choose the M7: if weight and packed size are more important. Choose the M7 XL: if a longer grip and the six additional airflow settings of the XL mouthpiece are more important.
Heating technique instead of a degree display
The M7 XL does not regulate a fixed temperature. The cap is heated evenly until it clicks; the heat source, heating position and duration alter the result. The previously stated fixed maximum temperature of 220 °C therefore does not describe an adjustable device specification.
Consistent results come from a repeatable routine. It can be heated again after the cool-down click. The cap and tip remain hot after the draw and should only be touched or disassembled once they have cooled completely.
Chamber, microdosing and filling
The full bowl holds approximately 0.1 g. For smaller loads, the chamber can be halved using Adjust-a-Bowl. DynaVap does not state that it has approved a dedicated dosing capsule for the M7 XL; the adjustable bowl is the documented microdosing option.
Loosely filled, evenly ground material supports airflow. Packing it too tightly makes the draw more difficult and can result in uneven extraction.
Water filters and accessories
The M7 XL can be used with water filters via a suitable 10 mm connection.
