Four fixed heat settings from 490 to 590 °F (254 to 310 °C), a 40-second heat cycle and roughly 25 seconds of heat-up time are the key figures. There is still no app, no Bluetooth and no wireless charging.
The Peak is aimed at people who want a water-filtered e-rig with single-button operation without paying for the app features and larger 3DXL chamber of the Peak Pro. Retailers also list it as "New Peak", "Peak 2024" or "Peak V2" — it is always this model. The original 2018 Peak (ceramic atomizer, micro-USB, one-year warranty) has been retired, and its accessories only partly carry over.

Generations and Variants
Puffco has sold the Peak under the same name since 2018 but rebuilt it from the ground up in July 2024. The original Peak (2018) heated with a ceramic atomizer and replaceable ceramic bowl, charged over micro-USB, managed about 30 dabs per charge and carried a one-year warranty. Puffco now calls it the "OG Peak" or "Peak Original"; the product page still showed it in June 2024, after which the relaunch took over the same address.
The Peak (2024) adds, according to Puffco, the 3D Chamber, an included Joystick Cap, real-time temperature control, 35 dabs per charge and USB-C. Retailers call it "New Peak", "Peak 2024" or "Peak V2" — it is the same device. Do not confuse it with the Peak Pro, the pricier sister line with app control, Qi charging and the 3DXL chamber.
Color variants (technically identical): Onyx (standard), Sky and Cloud at launch in 2024, Canyon and Pine by early 2025, Bliss from February 2025, Sapphire and Zest since May 2026. Puffco currently lists only Onyx, Sapphire and Zest; Cloud and Bliss are sold out. Bundles with the Hot Knife exist in Onyx, Sapphire and Zest.
Predecessor: Puffco Peak Original (2018)
The original Peak (Puffco: "OG Peak") was unveiled at CES on January 8, 2018 and sold from spring 2018 at 379.99 USD; Puffco marketed it as the first smart e-rig. It has been retired — the product page last showed it in June 2024 at 199 USD — and still appears in the trade as clearance or used stock. Puffco continues to sell replacement atomizers and ceramic bowls.

Glass tops carry over between generations, heating chambers do not: per Puffco the 3D Chamber is not compatible with the OG Peak, and the Peak Atomizer only fits the OG.
3D Chamber and Heating System
The core is the Peak 3D Chamber: a ceramic chamber with heat traces embedded in its walls. Concentrate is vaporized from the sides rather than only from the bottom — Puffco says this preserves terpenes and cannabinoids and gives more even hits. Sensors in the chamber report the temperature continuously, and the electronics hold the selected setting for the whole 40-second cycle.
The chamber screws onto the base and comes off for cleaning or replacement. It is a wear part with a six-month warranty; replacements come directly from Puffco, always with a black silicone jacket that can be swapped onto colored devices. Important for upgraders: the 3D Chamber does not fit the original 2018 Peak, and the old atomizer does not fit the new device.
Heat Settings, Boost and Intensity Mode
A single click on the only button changes the setting, and the LED color shows it: blue (Low, 490 °F) for maximum flavor with little vapor, green (Med, 510 °F) as the compromise, red (High, 530 °F) for more vapor and white (Peak, 590 °F) for the most vapor. Degree-precise adjustment is not available — that requires the Peak Pro with its app.
Two extra modes appear in the manual. Boost Mode (double-click once the temperature is reached) extends the cycle by 15 seconds and raises the temperature by 18 °F, and can be repeated as often as you like. Intensity Mode (five clicks) starts a more intense cycle designed for dry dabs with no water in the glass. On the original Peak the extension was called "Sesh Mode".
How Do I Charge the Battery Properly?
Puffco quotes about 35 heat cycles per charge on the green setting; hotter settings draw more power. Three clicks show the battery level: green means 100–60 %, yellow 60–30 %, red below 30 %. A small LED above the charging port turns red when roughly five dabs remain.
Charging is via USB-C from a supply rated 5 V and up to 2 A; Puffco says a depleted battery is full in about two hours. The light band pulses while charging and switches off when done. The Li-ion battery is built in and not user-replaceable. Whether the device can be used while charging (pass-through) is not stated by Puffco — several retailer reviews report it, but a manufacturer source is missing.
Controls and LED Codes
Everything runs through one button: hold for three seconds to power on or off, click once to change the heat setting, double-click to start a heat cycle, hold to cancel. The light pulses while heating; once the temperature is reached the device flashes and vibrates twice. Puffco recommends inhaling gently while rotating the Joystick Cap, which steers airflow 360° across the material.
Error codes per the manual: four white flashes mean "no chamber detected", alternating red and white "chamber error, clean the chamber", five seconds of red "device overheating", three red flashes "low battery". Operation and charging are rated for 32 to 100 °F (0 to 38 °C).
Glass Top and Water Filtration
The Peak ships with the Peak Glass 2.0: two hand-blown borosilicate chambers with two rows of laser-cut perc holes at the base. To fill it, remove the top and add water through the mouthpiece to just above the holes; the lower section must stay dry, otherwise water can reach the base. The glass locks in at the front over the chamber and is pressed into the base at the back.
Puffco stresses compatibility with all Peak and Peak Pro glass tops — including the Peak Pro Travel Glass and the Ryan Fitt Recycler Glass 2.0. If you want to run without water, use Intensity Mode for dry dabs.
How Do I Clean and Maintain My Vaporizer?
Puffco recommends wiping the still-warm 3D Chamber with a cotton swab in a circular motion after every use. For a deep clean, remove the Joystick with jacket and tether, unscrew the chamber and soak it in 90 %+ isopropyl alcohol for 20 minutes — then let it air-dry completely and do not rinse with water.
The glass also soaks for 20 minutes in isopropyl alcohol, then gets rinsed thoroughly with water and dried. On the base, only clean the thread block and air path with a soaked cotton swab; water must never enter the base. As a rule of thumb Puffco suggests a thorough clean every time the battery is fully drained, plus an alcohol soak for the chamber whenever it floods or a chamber error appears.
What's in the Box and Accessories
According to Puffco the box contains: Peak base, Peak Glass 2.0, 3D Chamber, Joystick Cap, loading tool, cotton swabs and a USB-C cable. Unlike the original Peak, a wall adapter and a carrying case are not included.
Puffco's accessory range covers replacement 3D Chambers, the Peak Glass, the Joystick Cap with tether, the Peak Pro Travel Glass, the Ryan Fitt Recycler Glass 2.0, the Hot Knife electric loading tool and the Puffco Travel Case. The Peak Atomizer and Peak Bowl of the 2018 model are not compatible, and a Qi charging dock exists only for the Peak Pro.
Warranty and Support
Puffco covers the Peak (2024) for two years on the electronic base and six months on the 3D Chamber; glass, wear and accidental damage are excluded. For comparison, the original Peak had one year on the base and one month on the atomizer.
The warranty only applies to purchases from Puffco or authorized retailers — Puffco explicitly excludes marketplaces such as Amazon or eBay. A claim requires proof of purchase and the serial number, and opening the base voids the warranty. Who It Suits and Alternatives
The Peak suits people who want a tabletop e-rig with water filtration and the simplest possible operation and can live without app profiles. Puffco's own comparison table places it between the compact Pivot (no water, shorter cycles) and the Peak Pro 3DXL (app, Qi charging, extra-large chamber). If you prefer very large loads or degree-precise control, the Peak Pro is the pick; if you need a pocketable device, the Pivot.
No Puffco device vaporizes dry herb — the Peak is built exclusively for concentrates and extracts. Puffco also offers the Proxy as a modular, pipe-shaped concentrate device.
Strengths and Weaknesses
