About this vaporizer

The VaporGenie Mini Sherlock is a flame-heated glass vaporizer in a compact Sherlock-pipe shape — with no battery, no display and no electronics. It is heated with an ordinary lighter: the flame warms the patented silicon-carbide ceramic filter, which in turn heats the incoming air so the herbs vaporize instead of burning. The ceramic filter contains no metal, does not burn out and never needs replacing. The body is thick-walled borosilicate glass from Schott (Germany). Temperature is controlled entirely by draw speed — drawing slower produces more heat, drawing faster gives cooler hits. If preferred, the Mini Sherlock can also be used as an ordinary pipe.

Flame-powered operation with patented ceramic filter

The Mini Sherlock operates entirely without a battery or electronics. A standard lighter flame heats the patented silicon carbide ceramic filter, through which the incoming air flows and heats up. This vaporises the active compounds rather than burning them. Importantly, the flame never directly touches the herb — only the filter. As the ceramic contains no metal, it releases no substances into the vapour, does not combust, and unlike metal screens, practically never needs replacing.

How is the VaporGenie Mini Sherlock heated? +

With a standard lighter. The flame heats the patented silicon carbide ceramic filter through which the air flows — this vaporises the herb instead of burning it. The Mini Sherlock requires no battery or mains power. The flame must never directly touch the herb.

Do I need to replace the ceramic filter regularly? +

No. The filter is made from silicon carbide ceramic, contains no metal, and does not combust. With normal, correct use, no soot accumulates and the filter lasts practically indefinitely.

How do I control the temperature on the Mini Sherlock? +

Via draw speed. Drawing slowly produces hotter, denser draws; drawing faster produces cooler and milder vapour. There is no electronic temperature control — regulation lies entirely with the user.

What material is the Mini Sherlock made from? +

Thick-walled borosilicate glass by Schott (Germany), which withstands large temperature changes. As a glass device, however, it is more susceptible to impacts than metal vaporisers.

Can I also use the Mini Sherlock as a regular pipe? +

Yes. If desired, the Mini Sherlock can also be used like a conventional pipe. Its primary purpose, however, is flame-heated vaporisation through the ceramic filter, which is gentler than straight combustion.
