About this vaporizer
The Yocan Uni is the entry model of the UNI line and a box mod for 510 cartridges. Three fixed voltage levels from 3.4 to 4.2 volts cover the usual range, with a preheat stage running at 1.8 volts. Its defining features are the height slider and the diameter dial, which let cartridges between 6 and 12 millimetres disappear entirely into the housing. The 650 mAh battery charges over micro-USB and supports passthrough use. A 15-second cut-off prevents continuous operation. What separates it from the later Uni Pro and Uni Pro 2.0 is mainly the fixed step selection.

Three settings instead of variable adjustment
The Uni switches between 3.4, 3.8 and 4.2 volts — there are no additional adjustment options. The colour of the indicator LED shows which setting is active; there is no display. These settings are sufficient for most cartridges: the lowest setting is designed for flavour, while the highest is intended for vapour production. However, if you have a cartridge that burns at 4.2 volts but produces too little vapour at 3.8, there is no intermediate setting. This is precisely what the Pro models with variable adjustment are designed for.
The mechanism is the defining feature
Two moving parts define the Uni. A slider on the side adjusts the height of the 510 connection, while a dial adjusts the diameter of the opening between six and twelve millimetres. Together, they ensure that the cartridge sits completely inside the housing instead of protruding from the top. The magnetic adapter screws onto the cartridge and holds it inside the device without a threaded connection. This makes cartridges easier to change and is why the range has remained popular for years.
650 mAh, preheating and automatic shut-off
The battery has a capacity of 650 milliampere-hours — the same as the Uni Pro and the Uni Pro 2.0. It charges via Micro-USB, and the device can continue to be used while charging. A preheating function operates at 1.8 volts and makes viscous oils flow more easily before the actual draw begins. After fifteen seconds of continuous operation, the electronics switch off. Cartridges with a resistance above 0.5 ohms are supported, which includes virtually all standard models on the market.
Position within the UNI range
Yocan offers several devices under the UNI name that look similar: the Uni as the entry-level model, the Uni Pro, the Uni Pro 2.0, as well as the Uni S, Uni Twist and Uni 3.0. They differ in voltage adjustment, charging port and housing material, but not in their basic design. The standard Uni is the simplest and generally the least expensive model in the range. Because many shops list all variants simply as "Yocan UNI", it is worth checking the exact model name before buying.
