Four heat settings from 490 to 545 °F (254–285 °C), around 15 dabs per charge and a 2-year warranty on the base are the key numbers.
It suits you if you want to vaporize concentrates dry, in pipe form, and value a growing accessory system: Bub, Wizard, Proxy Pipe and the glass-free Core attachment all use the same base. It is not built for dry herb; if you want something more pocketable, look at the Proxy Core Kit.

Generations and variants
Puffco has released two Proxy generations. The first arrived in June 2022 (Puffco Proxy Original) and received the Desert, Bloom, Flourish and Storm color editions through 2024. The second generation is simply called "Proxy" by Puffco, "New Proxy" or "Proxy V2" by retailers, and launched in September 2025 in Onyx and Haze. New are Bluetooth and the app, the taller 3D Chamber with a larger bowl, a refined shape and, per Puffco, more battery life. Since March 2026 the device comes in two kits: the Proxy Pipe Kit with the glass pipe and the Proxy Core Kit with a glass-free aluminum cup. Both contain the same base. The Pine color for the Core Kit followed in August 2026, along with bundles with the Hot Knife and the Proxy Pipe. Note before buying: the new 3D Chamber does not fit the 2022 base and vice versa.
3D Chamber and heating behavior
The chamber is a ceramic bowl with heat traces embedded in its walls. Concentrate is vaporized from the sides rather than the bottom, which Puffco says preserves terpenes. The second-generation chamber is taller and holds more, so less material splashes out. Four settings cover 490 to 545 °F; Puffco suggests Green (510 °F) as the starting point. After a double click the light pulses, then the device flashes and vibrates when ready. A heat cycle lasts 40 seconds; a second double click triggers Boost Mode with more time and temperature. Puffco recommends loading along the chamber walls rather than the floor and inhaling gently.
App, Bluetooth and controls
The base has a single button: hold 3 seconds to power on or lock, single click to change the setting, double click to start a heat cycle, triple click to show battery level, four clicks to dim the LED bar. For the app, hold the button 6 seconds until the device pulses blue. Puffco Connect lets you build custom heat profiles with temperature, duration and vapor level ("Vapor Control"), pick animated mood lighting and view session statistics. Without the app the four presets remain available. Puffco deliberately does not call this a "Proxy Pro": there is no 3DXL chamber and no wireless charging.
How Do I Charge the Battery Properly?
The built-in lithium-ion battery lasts around 15 dabs according to Puffco, depending on heat setting and Boost use; 420vapezone got 12 in its first test. Puffco does not publish a capacity; the review lists 1680 mAh. Charging runs over USB-C in about 2 hours from a 5 V / 1 A supply, and the device can be used while plugged in once it has some charge. The battery is not user-replaceable, and Puffco warns against charging or operating below 32 °F or above 100 °F.
Glass, attachments and water filtration
The Pipe Kit's glass is hand-blown borosilicate; the colored coating was tested to ISO 10993-5 and 10993-10 for cytotoxicity and skin irritation. The base sits loosely in the glass and simply pulls out for cleaning or swapping. For water filtration there is the Proxy Bub, for longer cooling the Wizard with its spiral stem, and for travel the glass-free Core attachment with terp pearls. Every Proxy base fits every Proxy glass piece, including first-generation glass. The Proxy Pipe has been sold separately since March 2026.
How Do I Clean and Maintain My Vaporizer?
Puffco recommends wiping the chamber with a cotton swab after each use while it is still warm, and soaking it in 90%+ isopropyl alcohol for 20 minutes when needed, without rinsing in water. The base must never be submerged; clean the contacts and airpath with a dampened swab only. Glass can be soaked and then rinsed with water. Puffco's rule of thumb: deep-clean once per battery charge. Red-white flashing signals a chamber contact error, three white flashes a missing chamber, five seconds of red an overheat.
Warranty and support
The base carries a 2-year limited warranty and the 3D Chamber 6 months; glass, wear and drop damage are excluded. Puffco requires proof of purchase from an authorized dealer and explicitly excludes purchases via Amazon, eBay or Walmart.com. Replacements ship only to the country of purchase. Who it is for, alternatives
The Proxy Pipe Kit fits you if you want dry, flavor-focused concentrate sessions without water and plan to expand with glass later. For everyday carry the Proxy Core Kit with the same base is the shatterproof pick. The predecessor Puffco Proxy Original offers neither app nor Core compatibility. The Proxy vaporizes dry herb only with the separate Flower Bowl, which is currently sold out at Puffco.
