Puffco Proxy Core

The Proxy Core Kit is not a new device but the second kit form of the 2025 Puffco Proxy. Since March 2026 Puffco sells the Bluetooth base either as the Proxy Pipe Kit with the glass pipe or as the Proxy Core Kit with the aluminum cup. The cup with mouthpiece and pearls is also sold as the $50-class accessory "Proxy Core" in Onyx and Haze so owners of a Bluetooth Proxy can convert. At launch the kit came in Onyx only; Pine followed in August 2026, alongside bundles with the Hot Knife and the Proxy Pipe. Core is not compatible with the original 2022 Proxy.

The Core Cup replaces the glass with an anodized aluminum cup on a silicone foot; the silicone Core Mouthpiece sits directly on the 3D Chamber. Puffco calls it an "impact airpath": air swirls inside the chamber and moves the included ceramic pearls, making the draw more direct and tangible. The airpath passes only through chamber and mouthpiece, and Puffco says the cup does not heat up. Pearls are optional; Puffco recommends 3 to 5 mm, ideally 4 mm, and allows third-party pearls. The Joystick Cap does not work in the Core setup but is included for other Proxy glass.

The base is operated exactly like the Pipe Kit with one button: single click changes the setting, double click starts the cycle, triple click shows battery level. To pair, hold for 6 seconds until the light pulses blue. In Puffco Connect you create custom profiles with temperature, duration and vapor level, choose light animations and view session statistics. The four presets range from 490 °F for flavor to 545 °F for maximum vapor; Puffco suggests Green at 510 °F as the starting point.

Puffco lists around 15 heat cycles per charge and about 2 hours of charging over USB-C from a 5 V / 1 A supply; VapeGuy measured 6 to 9 sessions, 420vapezone 12 with the same base in the Pipe Kit. The device can be used while charging once it has some charge. Puffco publishes no capacity; reviews cite 1680 mAh. The battery is built in. Puffco recommends a full charge before first use; the charge light can take up to 15 minutes to respond.

To switch, pull the Core Cup down with a gentle twist, unscrew the chamber, swap the silicone mouthpiece for the Joystick Cap and drop the base into a Proxy glass piece such as the Bub, Wizard or Proxy Pipe. Puffco confirms that all Proxy bases fit all Proxy glass. That lets the Core Kit grow from a travel device into a tabletop setup without buying a second base. When reinserting the chamber, align its three contacts; forcing it can cause damage.

Chamber and mouthpiece come off and soak in 90%+ isopropyl alcohol for 20 minutes, pearls included; water is off limits. Per Puffco the aluminum cup must not be submerged, only wiped with a dampened cotton swab. The base is cleaned at the contacts and airpath with a swab and never dunked. Wipe the warm chamber after every use and deep-clean at least once per battery charge. Let the chamber and pearls cool completely before handling them.

As with the Pipe Kit, the electronic base carries a 2-year and the 3D Chamber a 6-month warranty; wear parts, drop damage and purchases via marketplaces such as Amazon or eBay are excluded. Puffco provides a dedicated multilingual Core manual with error codes, and the Proxy support page includes a Core FAQ block. Replacements ship only to the country of purchase, and Puffco asks that defective units not be returned to the store.

The Core Kit fits you if you want a compact concentrate device for travel with no risk of broken glass and still want app control. If you prefer glass at home, take the Proxy Pipe Kit; if you already own a Bluetooth base, the Proxy Core attachment is enough. The 2022 original is out, because Core does not fit it. Weaknesses: no water filtration in the Core setup, a more direct and warmer draw than glass, around 15 dabs per charge.
