Design and E-Rig Concept
The Lookah Unicorn is a compact electronic dab rig that combines a heated atomizer with a built-in glass water bubbler. The design places the heating element at the top, with vapour travelling down through the water chamber before reaching the mouthpiece at the base. This inverted rig layout keeps the centre of gravity low, making the device more stable on a table than top-heavy designs. The glass bubbler is borosilicate and detaches for filling and cleaning. Overall height is about 18 cm — tall enough to provide good water filtration but small enough to store in a drawer when not in use.
Atomizer and Temperature Settings
The Unicorn uses a quartz bucket atomizer that heats concentrates evenly for clean, flavourful hits. Four temperature presets are available, indicated by LED colour: green for low, blue for medium, purple for medium-high, and white for maximum heat. The low setting around 260 °C produces smooth, terpene-rich vapour with lighter clouds. Medium at roughly 290 °C offers a good balance. The higher settings generate dense, intense hits suited for thicker materials like crumble and budder. Heat-up time is approximately 20 seconds. Load a rice-grain-sized dab into the bucket using the included tool and select your preferred temperature.
Water Filtration and Battery
Fill the glass bubbler with enough water to cover the intake slits — roughly 8–10 ml. Too much water causes splashback into the mouthpiece. The water noticeably cools the vapour, making high-temperature dabs much more comfortable than they would be from a dry pen. After each session, pour out the water to prevent stale residue from affecting the next session's flavour. The internal 1500 mAh battery provides around 25–30 heating cycles per charge. USB-C charging takes about 90 minutes from empty. For tabletop use, you can keep the device plugged in between sessions to ensure it is always ready.
Cleaning and Maintenance
The detachable glass bubbler is the component that needs the most attention. Rinse it with warm water after every session, and give it a thorough soak in isopropyl alcohol once a week — 15 minutes is usually enough to dissolve residue. The quartz bucket should be cleaned after each use: fire the device for 3–4 seconds after your last draw to burn off remaining concentrate, then wipe the bucket with a dry cotton swab once cool. If stubborn residue builds up, a swab dampened with iso clears it. Replacement quartz buckets are sold separately and should be swapped every 6–8 weeks depending on how often you use the device.
Unicorn Glass Bubbler
The Lookah Unicorn features an integrated glass bubbler that filters and cools concentrate vapor. Fill with just enough water to cover the percolator holes. Empty and dry the glass piece before transport to prevent spills. Replacement glass attachments are available if the original breaks.
