Vortex Cooling in the Airpath
The Simrell Vortex was Simrell's original cooling system before the MVS arrived. Inside, helical channels create a spinning effect (vortex) that rotates the vapor, extending its effective path and noticeably cooling it down. Compared to the MVS, the cooling effect is slightly less, but the Vortex costs less too. Both systems improve comfort significantly over the stock DynaVap condenser.
Material Options and Customization
The Vortex comes in stainless steel, titanium, and various wood-steel combinations. Wood variants (Wenge, Cocobolo, Bocote) feel warm in hand and look handcrafted. All versions use a 10mm mouthpiece end that fits directly into small bongs. The O-ring at the stem end seals against the DynaVap tip and is easy to replace when worn.
Vortex Cooling System
The Simrell Vortex uses a patented helical air path to cool vapor before it reaches your lips. Each internal fin adds turbulence that strips heat from the vapor stream. The titanium construction adds minimal weight while maximizing thermal transfer. Compatible with all DynaVap tips. The Vortex pairs especially well with induction heaters since consistent heating lets the cooling design work optimally. Clean with isopropyl alcohol and a pipe cleaner.
Vortex Material Choice
Simrell offers the Vortex in titanium and stainless steel. Titanium is lighter (30 g vs 45 g) and heats up faster but costs more. Stainless steel retains heat longer between hits, which some users prefer for extended sessions. Both materials are equally durable and food-safe. The titanium version develops a unique patina over time that many collectors appreciate. Both versions accept the same tips and accessories.
