The Mighty by Storz & Bickel is the predecessor to the Mighty+ and still a capable portable vaporizer with hybrid heating. The main difference from the Mighty+: the original Mighty uses Micro-USB instead of USB-C and has a larger 5800 mAh battery, offering more capacity at the cost of additional weight. Heat-up time is around 90 seconds to 210°C.
Like the Mighty+, it supports passthrough charging, comes with dosing capsules, and is compatible with water pipes via adapter accessories. The hybrid heating produces thick, consistent vapor. For non-rushed sessions, the longer battery life is a genuine advantage.

Hybrid Heating: Convection Meets Conduction
At the core of the Mighty is Storz & Bickel's patented heating system. The aluminum chamber heats material from the outside (conduction) while hot air simultaneously flows through it (convection). This dual approach extracts herb evenly from the first draw.
Airflow sits at roughly 10 liters per minute — enough for deep draws with minimal resistance. A double-click on the power button activates the Booster, raising temperature by 15 C to extract remaining material more efficiently toward the end of a session.
Materials and Build Quality
The housing is made from PEEK (polyether ether ketone), a high-performance polymer from the medical industry. PEEK is food-safe, heat-resistant, and far tougher than standard plastic.
The filling chamber holds 1.4 cubic centimeters and is made from aluminum — a key difference from the Mighty+, whose chamber has a ceramic coating. The cooling unit sits on top and uses a labyrinth airflow path that brings vapor to a comfortable temperature before reaching the mouthpiece.
The Mighty lacks the stability fins found on the Mighty+, but its wide base keeps it upright on flat surfaces.
Temperature Control and Display
The LC display shows current and target temperature simultaneously. Two buttons (+/-) adjust temperature in 1-degree steps across a 40-210 C range. A vibration alert — a novelty when the Mighty launched in 2014 — signals when target temperature is reached.

Battery and Charging
Two lithium-ion batteries power the Mighty. In practice, expect 5 to 8 sessions per charge, depending on temperature and draw frequency. Unlike the Mighty+, the original uses a proprietary 12V power supply — no USB-C.
Charge time is roughly 100 minutes for a full charge. Passthrough charging works: you can use the Mighty while it is plugged in.
The battery is not user-replaceable. Storz & Bickel offers replacement as a paid service.
Dosing Capsules, Accessories and Cleaning
The Mighty supports Storz & Bickel dosing capsules. The same capsules fit the Mighty+, Crafty+, VENTY, and Plenty — a major advantage of the S&B ecosystem. An 8-capsule magazine is available as an accessory.
A 14 mm water pipe adapter connects the Mighty to any bong. Other accessories include the Wear & Tear Set, replacement cooling unit, and carry case.
Cleaning
The cooling unit comes off without tools and soaks in isopropyl alcohol. Brush the chamber after each session. Every two to three weeks, disassemble the cooling unit, swap screens, and wipe the chamber. The whole process takes under five minutes.
Mighty vs. Mighty+: What Changed?
The Mighty+ succeeds the original Mighty. Key improvements: USB-C instead of Micro-USB, ceramic-coated chamber, and 60 vs 90 second heat-up. Vapor quality is nearly identical — both use the same hybrid heating system.
The original Mighty is discontinued but still available as remaining stock from some shops (from €204). The Mighty+ starts at about €266.
Cleaning the Cooling Unit
The cooling unit is the core of Mighty maintenance. Disassemble (unscrew lid, remove O-ring and screens), soak in isopropanol, scrub with the brush. Every 1-2 weeks with daily use. Clean cooling units = better taste and freer airflow.
