Arizer Solo

The Arizer Solo uses a hybrid heating system where convection takes the lead. When you draw, air flows through heated material in the glass stem -- that is the convective part. At the same time, the stainless steel chamber transfers heat by conduction. This combination delivers flavorful vapor with solid volume.

The convection-forward design shows its strengths at lower temperatures: terpenes stay intact, and the vapor tastes clean and clear. At higher temperatures, vapor density increases without turning harsh -- a benefit of the all-glass path.

Compared to pure conduction devices, the Solo needs slightly more draw resistance and slower draws. That is not a flaw but a design choice: slow, steady draws extract more effectively than fast pulls.

The Solo covers a temperature range from 50 to 210 °C -- wider than most portables. Control is through 7 preset levels spanning the full range.

Many users start at level 4 (around 180 °C) and step up to level 6-7 as the session progresses. This extracts volatile terpenes first, then the remaining compounds. Heat-up takes roughly 15 seconds -- fast enough for spontaneous sessions.

After 12 minutes, the Solo shuts off automatically. That is enough for an extended session, and you can restart immediately.

The Solo houses a 2200 mAh lithium-ion battery. Runtime varies by temperature level: at moderate settings (level 4-5), expect 5-7 sessions per charge. At maximum level, that drops to about 4-5 sessions.

Charging uses the included power adapter. Passthrough charging is supported: you can use the Solo while it charges -- handy when the battery runs out unexpectedly. The battery is built in and cannot be replaced by the user.

A note on battery care: lithium-ion cells do not like being kept at full charge indefinitely. If you are storing the Solo for an extended period, aim for about 50-60% charge. For everyday use, just charge and go.

At 217 grams, the Solo sits on the heavier end of portable vaporizers. For reference: a Crafty+ weighs 135 g, a PAX 3 about 93 g. The Solo will not slip into a jeans pocket, but fits comfortably in a jacket or bag. The weight comes from its solid metal construction -- and that construction serves a purpose.

The housing is anodized aluminum. It feels substantial and survives drops that would damage lighter plastic devices. Build quality is one of the Solo's biggest strengths: no loose parts, no creaking seams, no cheap feel.

What is missing: there is no app control or Bluetooth. The Solo is a device for people who want to turn on, pick a temperature, and vape -- without routing through a smartphone. Whether that is a drawback depends on personal preference.
