The Vexil combines conduction and convection — the ceramic chamber conducts heat directly while hot air flows through. This gives more even extraction than pure conduction. A flavor upgrade from the CFC 2.0.

Connect via Bluetooth to the Boundless app. The app allows precise temperature selection, session timer, and firmware updates. Without the app, the Vexil works via three preset temperature levels on the device.

Boundless describes the Vexil as a hybrid device, meaning it combines conduction (heat from direct contact with oven walls) and convection (heat from hot air drawn through the material). In practice, this means the start of a session is slightly more conduction-dominant while the oven is coming up to temperature, and as you draw, convection increases. This produces fuller vapour clouds than pure convection without the harshness that can come from high-temperature conduction. Optimal draw speed is medium — around 5–7 seconds, steady, not rushed.

The Vexil's hybrid design means both the oven and the air path need regular attention. After each session, brush the oven with the included tool. The glass mouthpiece assembly detaches and should be soaked in isopropyl alcohol once or twice a week depending on frequency of use. The screen at the base of the mouthpiece is the most important part to keep clean — a clogged screen dramatically increases draw resistance. Have two or three spare screens on hand; they are inexpensive and easy to swap in under a minute.
