About this vaporizer
The Ghost MV1 occupies a special place in portable vaporizer history. Ghost Vapes built it as a premium on-demand convection portable, and it delivered on that promise to a degree that still impresses. The body is stainless steel. Loading uses a small crucible system — you fill the crucible, drop it into the chamber, and you're set. Heat-up is around 10 seconds, and the vapour quality is genuinely excellent: dense, flavourful, and smooth in a way that budget conduction portables simply can't match.
On-demand heating means the device only draws power when you're actually drawing, which preserves battery life and keeps every hit fresh rather than letting material cook between puffs. The 2600mAh battery is replaceable, which was a standout feature. Passthrough charging via USB-C was ahead of its time. An app gave you granular temperature control down to individual degrees, with profiles you could save and switch between.
Ghost Vapes is no longer operating, so new units aren't available from official channels. The secondary market carries them, sometimes at high prices because the demand from enthusiasts has never really faded. If you find one in good condition — with spare crucibles — it's worth considering seriously. The three-year warranty obviously no longer applies for new buyers, but the hardware itself tends to hold up well.
It's not for everyone: the crucible loading takes a moment to learn, cleaning requires some attention to the airpath, and the price on the used market can be steep. But for the vapour quality delivered, the MV1 remains a benchmark. Few portables, past or present, do on-demand convection this well.

The Ghost MV1 is a premium convection vaporizer from the US, known for its pure flavour and on-demand heating. With a 2600 mAh replaceable 18650 battery, app control, and a max temperature of 220 °C, it targets experienced users who value taste above all. The crucible loading system with dosing capsules keeps things clean and simple. Although the MV1 has been discontinued, it is still available from select retailers. Pure convection flavour in on-demand mode
The MV1 heats exclusively by convection: hot air flows through the material only while you draw. It reaches operating temperature in under 10 seconds. Between draws, nothing heats up – this saves material and delivers fresh flavour on every hit. For users who prioritize taste, the MV1 ranks among the best in its class.
Crucible system with dosing capsules
Instead of an open chamber, the MV1 uses crucibles – small metal capsules you pre-load with material and insert into the device. This keeps the vapor path clean and allows quick reloading on the go. Pre-packing crucibles simplifies dosing. Cleaning is easier too, since the material never touches the chamber directly.
App control and temperature profiles
The Ghost app (iOS and Android) lets you set and save precise temperature profiles. You can dial in exact temperatures and create different presets for various materials. The MV1 also works without the app, using preset temperature levels on the device itself.
Replaceable 18650 battery
The MV1 uses a standard 18650 cell at 2600 mAh. A full charge lasts 8–12 on-demand sessions. Carry a spare cell for all-day use – swapping takes seconds. The combination of replaceable battery and passthrough charging makes the MV1 practical even without an outlet nearby.
Discontinued but still available
Ghost Vapes has stopped producing the MV1. However, some retailers still have stock, often at reduced prices. For collectors and enthusiasts, the MV1 remains a sought-after device – its vapor quality is still top-tier. Spare parts and crucibles are currently available, though supply may decrease over time.
Crucible Loading System
The MV1 uses small stainless-steel crucibles instead of a built-in chamber. Each crucible holds about 0.1 g of ground herb. You can pre-load several crucibles at home and swap them on the go — a fresh crucible slides in through the side door in under five seconds.
Ghost sold the crucibles in packs of five. Since the company is no longer active, third-party replacements can be hard to find. Keeping your existing crucibles clean extends their life considerably. A quick soak in isopropyl alcohol after every few sessions prevents residue from building up in the mesh screen at the bottom.
On-Demand Convection Heating
Unlike session vaporizers that keep the chamber hot for minutes at a time, the MV1 only heats air when you press the trigger and inhale. Hot air passes through the crucible from below, extracting vapor without baking the herb between draws. This approach preserves flavor and stretches each load across more hits.
Heat-up takes about 3 to 5 seconds after pressing the button. The first draw from a fresh crucible is mostly flavor with light visible vapor. By the third or fourth draw, clouds get noticeably thicker as the herb reaches full extraction temperature. Most users get 6 to 10 draws per crucible before the taste turns thin.
