About this vaporizer

The Zeus Ion is Zeus's entry into the pen-style vaporizer segment — slim, simple, and built around the idea that the best vaporizer for some situations is the one that fits in any pocket without drawing attention. It's a conduction device with a clean design and minimal controls.

Pen vaporizers are a specific category. They're not trying to compete with session devices on vapor quality — they compete on convenience, discretion, and ease of use. The Ion checks all those boxes. The single-button interface means zero learning curve, and the 30-second heat-up gets you going fast. At 220°C maximum, it handles dry herb and, with the right adapter, 510-thread cartridges too.

The 650mAh battery is on the smaller side, which is just the physics of the form factor. One to two sessions is a realistic expectation per charge. That's enough for quick use during a break or commute, but it's not a device you'd rely on for an extended day out without a charger. Think of it as a complement to a larger device rather than a standalone daily driver.

Zeus is better known for their Arc series, which are more capable and feature-rich. The Ion trades that for pure portability. If the Arc GT4 is the workhorse, the Ion is the pocket knife — smaller, lighter, always on you when you need it.

Build quality is fine for the price tier. The device feels solid enough, finishes are clean, and the brand's one-year warranty provides a reasonable safety net. It won't blow you away with performance, but for a discrete, pocketable pen with a known brand behind it, the Ion does its job without much fuss.

Cons

The Zeus Ion is a concentrate pen from Zeus Arsenal, TVape's in-house brand out of Canada. Small, light, stripped down to the essentials. At just 40 grams, it fits in a shirt pocket without drawing attention. The quartz coil delivers clean flavor, three temperature presets cover the range from mild to intense. Simple device, simple concept. If you want a no-fuss wax pen and do not need a screen or app, the Ion is a well-built option.

Let us be upfront though: the Ion competes in a crowded category. Some alternatives cost less and follow the same basic principle. Zeus differentiates through build quality and branding rather than technical innovation. Whether the premium is worth it depends on how much design and materials matter to you. Current prices from 14 shops are in our price comparison. All Zeus products are listed on the brand page.

Quartz Coil & Conduction Heating

The Zeus Ion vaporizes concentrates using a quartz coil. Wax is applied directly onto the coil and heated through contact — standard conduction. Quartz has an edge over ceramic coils when it comes to flavor: it delivers a purer taste with less interference on the terpene profile. Ceramic heats more evenly, but quartz wins on intensity. That holds true in most real-world use.

The downside: quartz coils are consumables. Depending on usage, they last 2–4 weeks before flavor and vapor production drop off. Daily users might go through 12–24 replacement coils per year. That is an ongoing cost to factor in. Most wax pens work the same way — this is not a Zeus-specific issue, but worth knowing upfront.

Dry herb does not work with the Ion. There is no herb chamber. If you want dry herb from Zeus, look at the Arc GT4 instead.
